In cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Crimson Trace Corporation is recalling certain laser firearm-aiming products that may contain a laser diode which may cause your CTC product to fail to comply with FDA standards for laser products. CTC is instituting a program to repair or replace the affected CTC product units to address the issue.
PLEASE STOP USING YOUR CRIMSON TRACE LASER IMMEDIATELY AND REFER TO THE SUPPORT MATERIALS SECTION OF THIS WEBSITE FOR THE SAFE REMOVAL OF THE PRODUCT.
WARNING: IF YOUR LASER IS ATTACHED TO A FIREARM, MAKE SURE THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE LASER PRODUCT FROM THE FIREARM. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE BASIC RULES OF FIREARM SAFETY AND THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNER’S MANUAL FOR HANDLING YOUR FIREARM WHEN YOU REMOVE THE LASER PRODUCT.

HOW DO I DETERMINE IF MY RED LASER IS AFFECTED? Follow the steps below to determine if the RED LASER(S) in your possession are subject to recall:
Integrated M&P CTC RED LASER Products ONLY (M&P Bodyguard 38, M&P Bodyguard 380, & M&P Shield)
Step 1: Go to the Support Materials section of this website or see below to learn how to locate the serial number on your FIREARM, and enter it into the firearm serial number lookup tool below.
If the lookup tool indicates that your FIREARM is not impacted, no further action is required.
Step 2: If the lookup tool indicates that your FIREARM is potentially impacted,
then you will need to confirm that the RED LASER module installed on your firearm is affected. Using the instructions in the Support Materials page of this website or information below, locate your RED LASER module serial number and enter it into the laser module serial number lookup tool below.
If the lookup tool indicates that your RED LASER module is not impacted, no further action is required.
Step 3: If the serial number lookup tool indicates your RED LASER module is affected, the RED LASER module return process will be initiated once you complete the registration process.
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THE FIREARM, AND BE SURE TO REMOVE BATTERIES FROM THE LASER MODULE.
Non-Integrated CTC RED LASER products ONLY
Step 1: Only RED LASER modules manufactured within a specific date period are impacted. Utilizing the information below and in the Support Materials section of this website, locate the RED LASER module’s date of manufacture. If your RED LASER module was manufactured before March 11,2016 or after October 11, 2017, no further action is necessary.
If your RED LASER module was manufactured between March 11, 2016 and October 11, 2017, you need to locate the serial number of your RED LASER module and use the serial number lookup tool to determine whether it is affected by the recall and must be returned for repair or replacement. To locate your RED LASER module serial number please utilize the instructions below or in the
Support Materials section of this website.
Step 2: In order to determine if your RED LASER module needs to be repaired or replaced, please use the laser module serial number lookup tool below.
If the serial number lookup tool indicates your RED LASER module is affected, use the instructions below or in the Support Materials section of this website to remove the laser from your firearm.
The RED LASER module return process will be initiated once you complete the registration process.
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THE FIREARM, AND BE SURE TO REMOVE BATTERIES FROM THE LASER MODULE.
